HP Slim 15.6in i3 4GB 128GB FHD Laptop

Hi

We bought my daughter this laptop in August. She was working on it on Friday and then it just wouldn't work. The reason is saying that it is Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCle Adapter - adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems. I think the issue is it wont connect to a network and no networks are showing. It looks like there was a windows update that needs to be applied.

The laptop doesnt have an ethernet socket to allow to connect direct to the router and without connecting to the internet not sure how the problem can be fixed. Can anyone help with this please

Hi:

What I recommend you do is to use another PC and download the latest driver for that model wifi adapter.

2024.0.10.218

sp108893.exe (hp.com)

Copy the driver to a USB flash drive.

Plug the flash drive into the PC with no internet.

Run the driver exe file and it should update the driver to the latest version.

Hopefully, that will resolve the problem.

Many Thanks for your reply.

In the end I did get through to HP support and they provided me with a solution. Which I cant believe worked!!

The solution was to turn the computer off. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds, then connect the power socket into the laptop and switch the laptop back on.

The networks all appeared and believe this discharged the drive so when turned it back on it was deleted!! Not fully sure but it worked.
