Yes, you are right. I hesitate to return the laptop to the seller. Their intention is to send to HP for diagnostics, but internal voice tells me that HP won't be able to reproduce the problem and they will return the laptop. Or they will replace Realtek with Realtek.
I encourage everyone to try this HT option. 300 Mbps is not that bad.

I agree with you.
I would not waste my time sending it in. You may get it back in worse condition than when you sent it in, and no telling how long you would be without it.
If you can't return it, and you don't want to replace the card, 300 MBPS and working, is much better than 867 MBPS and not working.
I only have a 200 MBPS internet service, so that solution would work fine for me, if I had that problem.
