Hi @Om63,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds like you've already tried a comprehensive set of troubleshooting steps to resolve the Wi-Fi connectivity issue on your HP Pavilion laptop, but the problem persists. Given that you've tried software-related fixes without success, it's possible that the issue could be hardware-related or might require more advanced troubleshooting. Here’s what you can do next:

1. Check for Hardware Issues

  • Test the Wi-Fi Module: If possible, test the Wi-Fi card in another compatible device or use a USB Wi-Fi adapter to see if the issue is with the built-in Wi-Fi module.
  • Inspect the Wi-Fi Antenna Connection: The internal Wi-Fi card may have a loose or disconnected antenna cable. This requires opening the laptop, so proceed with caution or consult a professional.
  • Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
    1. Turn off the laptop.
    2. Turn it back on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
    3. Press F2 to select System Diagnostics.
    4. Run a Network/Wi-Fi test to check for any hardware issues.

2. Check Router Settings

  • Reset Your Router: Unplug your router for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and try to reconnect.
  • Check Router Compatibility: Ensure your router is not set to a frequency band that your Wi-Fi card doesn’t support. For example, some older Wi-Fi cards may not support 5GHz networks.
  • Update Router Firmware: Ensure your router's firmware is up to date.

3. Check for Interference

  • Avoid Signal Interference: Ensure there are no other devices (like microwaves or cordless phones) interfering with your Wi-Fi signal.
  • Change Wi-Fi Channel: Log into your router settings and change the Wi-Fi channel to see if it improves the connection.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Om63,

Please find the remaining steps below.

4. Perform a Full Network Reset with a System Reset

  • Full Network Reset:
    1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    2. Run the following commands one by one:

4.Restart your laptop and try connecting to Wi-Fi again.

  • Full System Reset:
    • If all else fails, you may need to reset your system to factory settings. Since you've already done a factory reset, this may not be necessary, but it's worth double-checking that no critical steps were missed.

5. Replace the Wi-Fi Card

  • Consider Replacing the Wi-Fi Card: If the Wi-Fi card is faulty, replacing it with a new one may resolve the issue. Make sure the replacement is compatible with your laptop model.

6. Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates

  • Update the BIOS/UEFI: Visit the HP Support website and check if there is a BIOS/UEFI update available for your laptop. An outdated BIOS can sometimes cause hardware compatibility issues.

  • Check hardware components (Wi-Fi module, antenna).
  • Reset your router and ensure compatibility.
  • Check for signal interference and router settings.
  • Perform a full network reset with command prompts.
  • Consider replacing the Wi-Fi card if it appears faulty.
  • Update the BIOS/UEFI if needed.
  • Contact HP Support if the issue remains unresolved.

These steps should help you diagnose and potentially fix the Wi-Fi connectivity issue.

If the issue persists after all these steps, it may be time to contact HP Phone Support for further assistance. There may be an underlying hardware fault that requires repair.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
