Hello.

I would like to replace present wifi 2.4ghz card with a 5ghz card.

I bought an Intel 3168NGW to test, but maybe it isn't compatible.

"Wireless Module not supported. The system detected a wireless module installed in the system is not supported. System halted. Please remove and restart.

Bluetooth module Id (704)"

Need advise on which 5ghz card is compatible please.

There is no BIOS whitelist for your model that would block other WiFi cards.

To upgrade with dual band cards, you need to have 2 antennas present and attached to previous card from factory. Otherwise new card is not going to provide dual band speed.

But the error shouldn't be occurring in any case.

Did you use this card with the HP part number: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Dual-Band-3168NGW-WiFi-BT4-2-802-11AC-NGFF-M2-HP-852511-001-WLAN-Card...

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

it's the same?

ok I have 1 antenna attached to factory card. so I'll have to install the second antenna manually. I will google how make it

so what do you suggest me to do?

That should be the same part as mentioned previously.

I'm not sure why you're getting not supported message. Whether you have 1 or 2 antennas, the card should be supported nevertheless.

Yes definitely to get dual band speed, you need to completely disassemble notebook to put in additional antenna under the display bezels, guide till the WiFi slot, which is doable but not a walk in the park.

maybe the problem is the BT version?

Realtek RTL8723BE is BT v4.0 while the other are v4.2

Bluetooth version is not going to make any compatibility issues.

That is new and strange to me.

May be @Paul_Tikkanen might be able to help in this.
