HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dw1000 (1W798AV)

Hi all,

I have an ho pavilion x360 convertible 14-dw1000 with a rtl8822ce wlan adapter.
wifi does not detect any 5ghz networks and connects only to 2.4. It is impossible to use any iPhone hotspot for example or using 802.1ac.

driver is not the last one (also if windows claims I have the best driver). I installed several newer drivers from hp website but they not used or associated to the wlan adapter.

I have seen several messages with the same problems and seems that driver update should solve, but it seems impossible to use a newer driver on win11. Any solution to the problem or any way to force a driver update? What is the actual last released driver, can I have version and link?

kind regards to all

Hi, @Valamarth

This is the latest driver HP has for the RTL8822CE.

It is good for both W10 & W11:

2024.10.229.1

Sounds like it is a bad adapter. Please try

It worked in the past, so is it supposed that became faulty only for 5ghz?

I have 2024.10.220.x and windows claims it is the best driver for the wlan. I have tried to download and install other more recent drivers from hp website. Installing seems to complete successfully but driver is not updated and if I force a search for the driver in the install path it is not detected. In any case I’ll try also with this driver. There are also some drivers that do not start with 2024.10.22 but with 1.x.y that seems to be more recent.

I supposed also that the adapter is faulty but it is very strange that driver update is not successful.

When you ran the driver file I posted for you, it unpacks to a folder located in C:\SWSetup\sp155074.

See if that directory exists.  it should.

Then go to the device manager.  Click on the RTL8822CE adapter.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the C:\SWSetup\sp155074 folder.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

After a few step of upgrade finally this version of the driver seems to have solved the problems
