HP Spectre
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Spectre goes to BSOD when connecting to 2.4GHZ wifi. Connecting to 5 GHZ works fine. Router is Linksys dual band. Spectre works fine other places with 2.4 GHZ wifi.

uninstall and reinstall the wifi adapter from device manager
if you do not have a hard wire or a way to get on the internet after you do this make sure you have already downloaded a copy of the drivers just incase windows doesn't have them

right click on start and go to device manager, look for wifi adapters and delete them making sure to delete old drivers then at the top click refresh hardware.

if the refresh hardware didn't install your drivers you will need to install them manually by either right clicking on the one with the yellow mark and going to update drivers then search on your computer for the .inf file that is associated with the driver or clicking the .exe associated with your driver

if none of this works a reinstall of windows might be needed. if it still happens after that the card itself could be faulty
