I have an HP laptop . When I am browsing or playing light games, the device lowers the processor speed to 0.79GHz and after a long time it returns to its speed. I tried all the solutions to address it and it didn't work.
Note: The temperature reaches 65°C and then decreases to 45/50°C
CPU: AMD E2-9000e RADEON R2, 4 CORES 2C + 2G computing
GPU: AMD Radeon (TM) R2 Graphics

Hi@thabet, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

We don't think it's an issue with computers. I don't see 65 degrees.

Did you know that the fan is system-managed and cannot be changed manually?

Does the computer shut down due to overheating?

Have you recently made any changes to the computer before the issue started?

Have you tried to update the drivers and the

Request you the following list describes some causes of excessive heating.

  • Dust inside the laptop.
  • A new component, such as a hard drive, is added. The extra component causes the power supply to work harder and generate more heat. Extra heat also radiates off the new component and adds to the temperature inside the case.
  • Over time, some cooling fans might slow down and wear out, as the laptop is getting hot, depending on the usage of the laptop.
  • High ambient room temperature.

Step 1: Removing dust and lint by cleaning vents

Step 2: Ensuring proper space for ventilation

Step 3: Updating the BIOS  ( Make sure Power adaptor connected to notebook )

Step 4: Using HP CoolSense technology

Step  5: Update the Windows

Step  6:Update Drivers from HP Support Assistance

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi@Liondz,

`We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to be checked taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.
