Hi, my notebook originally had Windows 8 which I then upgraded to Windows 10. However, I didn't like Windows 10 any better than 8 so I decided to do a clean full install of Windows 7 Ultimate. Since doing so, i am unable to connect to the internet. Plus I have an external hard drive but it doesn't show up in Windows Explorer. Within Device Manager, the following had the orange warning signs against them:-Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, PCI Device, SM BUS Controller, Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller and finally Unkown Device.
Apart from installing Windows 7 and adding a USB connected Mouse, Keyboard and External Drive (Seagate EXT 2.5 1TB M3 Portable), there have been no other modifications made since buying the notebook. I'd be grateful if anybody could advise me on what I need to do to a) connect to the internet and b) access my external hard drive via Windows Explorer.
My notebook is a HP Pavilion Touchsmart 15-b100sa Sleekbook
Many thanks, John

Thanks, John:
I only need the ones for the network controller and the unknown device.
Here are the links to the other drivers you need...
Chipset: Will install the usb and smbus controllers...use the W10/W7 64 bit driver (2nd one on the list). Restart the PC after installing the driver.
https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-8-series-chipsets/890fx
Graphics: Scroll down the page, select the W7 x64 driver and restart the PC
Audio: See if this one works...
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59068.exe
Ethernet: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W7 driver at the link below...
SD card reader: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 1st file listed at the link below...
Touchpad:

Hi, John:
I cannot find any info on a 15-b6100sa.
I see a TouchSmart 15-b100sa Sleekbook.
What is the product number of your notebook?
The product number can be found on the same label as the serial number.
Please do not post the serial number.
Also, please post the hardware ID for the Network Controller device (wifi card), so I can figure out what driver it needs.
There won't be any specs I can find to let me know that.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID for a device...

Hi Paul, you're a genius, I can now reach the Internet and I can see what's on my external Hard Drive from Windows Explorer. The only orange triangle I have left in Device Manager is for the Network Controller. Everything seems to be working ok but just in case you think it's important the Hardware ID's are :
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_1838103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_1838103C
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&CC_0280
If it's not that important then thanks very much for the help Paul, I really appreciate it!
Cheers
John
