Hi @pasitalia ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP 8020e is a printer model, and it can be used to both print physical copies of documents and scan documents to create digital copies. Here's a general guide on how you can make a physical copy and send a soft copy to your computer:

Making a Physical Copy:

Load Paper:

  • Make sure your printer has enough paper in the input tray.

Place the Document:

  • Lift the scanner lid and place the document face-down on the scanner glass or face-up in the document feeder, depending on your printer model.

Use the Control Panel:

  • Use the control panel on the printer to select the number of copies, adjust settings, and initiate the copying process. Follow the on-screen prompts if your printer has a display.

Wait for Completion:

  • The printer will scan the document and print the desired number of copies. Wait for the process to complete.

Sending a Soft Copy to Your Computer:

To send a scanned copy to your computer, you typically need to use the scanning function of your printer. Here's a general guide:

Access the Scanner:

  • On the control panel of your printer, locate the scanning option. This may be labeled as "Scan," "Copy," or have a dedicated button for scanning.

Select Scan to Computer:

  • Choose the option to scan to a computer. You might need to navigate through the menu using the arrow keys.

Choose Computer:

  • Select your computer from the list of available devices. If your computer is not listed, make sure the printer and computer are connected to the same network.

Configure Scan Settings:

  • Adjust settings such as the file format (PDF, JPEG, etc.), resolution, and destination folder on your computer.

Start Scanning:

  • Initiate the scanning process. The scanned document will be sent to the specified location on your computer.

Retrieve the Soft Copy:

Check Your Computer:

  • Open the destination folder on your computer where the scanned document was saved.

View or Edit:

  • Depending on the file format, you can open and view the scanned document. You may also choose to edit or share it as needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
