@Justanboy

Your machine is around 10 years old now, due to the whitelist the chance to upgrade to newer generation wifi adapter is very slim to none. If you wish, you can use USB wifi adapter which supports much faster speed. For example

I bought one early last year (same store but cheaper) for testing on my 11 years old machine and very happy with the outcome. I'm using it now and still keep the slower one, machine is smart enough to select the faster one when accessing internet.

And it works perfectly, get same result (download speed) with the 1G wired on same machine, same my network bundle.

Regards.

I forgot to mention that I asked for a wifi card out of the white listed wifi cards for the fastest one available without using a USB port

Sorry

no offense
