HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fc0000 (733M2AV)

The Wi-Fi connection drops when the laptop is not plugged into power. I’ve reinstalled all drivers, but with some versions the connection drops even when the laptop is charging. What could be the cause? I’ve been struggling with this issue for several days now and would appreciate your help in resolving it. Currently, I am using the Realtek RTL8852BE-VS WiFi 6 802.11ax driver, Windows 11.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to download the driver for the RTL8852BE/RTL8852BE-VS Wi-Fi adapter as follows:

For some reason, HP has removed all of the Realtek Wi-Fi drivers from almost every PC's support page.

According to the Microsoft Update Catalog website, the latest driver for the RTL8852BE/RTL8852BE-VS is 6001.15.156.0, so give that one a try.

You want the first file on the list.  It is good for W10 or W11 even though the info just indicates W11.

Microsoft Update Catalog

Now, since this file is a cabinet file and there is no executable, you will have to manually install the driver.

The first thing you need to do is to download and install the free 7-Zip file utility so you can unzip the cabinet file into a driver folder you can work with.

You want the first file listed on the link below:

7-Zip

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the cabinet file you saved from the Windows Update Catalog site.

Have 7-Zip Extract to:  and let it extract the file into that long folder name.

After that is done, go to the device manager.

Click on the Realtek Wi-Fi adapter.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that 7-Zip created.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

I noticed that the internet issue only occurs on Windows 11 (version 24H2). I reinstalled Windows 10, and everything works fine. I'm wondering if switching to an older version of Windows 11, like 22H2, would solve the problem. Does anyone know where I can officially download an older Windows 11 version?

I saw this post and thought I would share a similar experience I had in Feb 2024. I purchased a hp 15-fc0093dx running Windows 11 that had the Realtek RTL8852be 802.11ax wifi6 adapter. Same problem: wifi drops on battery; no drops when running on the power adapter. Tried updates, tests, recommended fixes, etc. -- no help. I found a clue in an old 2022 post. I had an older Netgear wifi4 router that worked just fine. I also have another hp laptop running windows 10 but with a different Realtek adapter and it has never had a problem which confused the issue. I replaced my router with a wifi 6 compliant Netgear router and that solved my problem. I can only speculate but wifi 6 introduced a feature called TWT (Target Wait Time). It is suppose to improve battery life by controlling when to sleep or wake up when communicating with your wifi router. Your device spends less time searching for a wifi signal and saves energy. (Intel.com). My guess (and it's only a guess) is that TWT is turned off when using the power adapter.
