This has been annoying the hell out of me since I got this laptop. For some reason my home wifi does not stay connected to my laptop. I've taken it elsewhere and it will be much more regular. My router is right next to my room, and every other device I have works fine off of the Wifi, I can online game with no problem. It's the computer or OS's fault and I really would like it resolved because it's impossible for me to work on it in these stay at home days if it can't stay on the internet for more than 5 minutes.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the drivers are up to date, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled them.

@Jackyattacky Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with wifi.

What is the product number of your computer? (Ensure you don't share any personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc..).

Here's a guided troubleshooter that will help fix this issue: Click here

Try these steps:

Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties  > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck  "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

If issue persists, continue with the below steps:

  • If your computer has a wireless key or button on or near the keyboard and the wireless activity light is off or amber in color, then press the key or button to enable your wireless adapter. This key might be the F10 key, F12 key or labeled with a symbol of an airplane.

  • If wireless activity comes on or the activity light turns blue, you have enabled wireless on your system. Try connecting to the Internet again. If problems persist, continue using these steps.

Like I said I've already check the drivers I don't need an update and I've uninstalled and reinstalled them. There is no wifi key on my board. Do you have anymore solutions? I'm getting ready to swear off HP, the webcam has completely stopped working and the only solution I can find is a factory reset. I'd rather get a new computer at this point if I have to  reinstall everything yet again.

@Jackyattacky here's what you need to do:

  1. Remove All Barriers: Certain building materials can get in the way of weaker signals like Bluetooth. Metal, bulletproof glass, concrete and plaster are particularly bad, and marble, plaster and brick aren’t great easy. So if you’re really struggling with interference, your first step should be to move your Bluetooth devices away from these materials. That means no brick walls between you and your devices, and definitely no metal desks!

  2. Change Router Channel: If you have an Apple router and you’re constantly getting interference with your WiFi, try rebooting it. Upon restart, the station will search for a new channel. Specifically, a different channel than the one your Bluetooth devices are using to communicate. If you don’t have an Apple router, you may need to instead go into your router settings and try changing the channel manually. Experiment with different channels to see which one works best.

  3. Move Closer to Your Router: If you often find that you’re getting interference when talking on a wireless headset while on a WiFi call (you’ll know because you’ll hear static), try moving closer to your router. This will give you a more robust WiFi connection, so the Bluetooth frequency can’t overpower it.

  4. Get Away From Microwaves and Fluorescent Lighting: Both emit frequencies of 2.4GHz, and moving away from them will distance you from the source.

That said, The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

(simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

Also, check if there are two networks that have the same names and you're on one of those networks - this is commonplace for expanding coverage of networks, but the computer may get connect between the two networks and that may make the entire wifi drop.
