My system very slow and hanging frequently

Thank you for your response, I understand you're experiencing slow performance and wireless connectivity issues on your HP laptop with a Ryzen 5 processor. Let's address both concerns step-by-step.

System is Very Slow and Hanging Frequently

This could be due to background processes, outdated drivers, or disk issues. Please try the following:

Step 1: Run HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and fix many performance issues.

Step 2: Check for Malware or Unwanted Programs

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) → Check for high CPU or memory usage.
  • Uninstall any unnecessary startup programs via Task Manager > Startup tab.
  • Run a full system scan using Windows Defender or your preferred antivirus.

Step 3: Free Up Disk Space

  • Open Settings > System > Storage and use Storage Sense to clean up temporary files.
  • Consider using Disk Cleanup or a third-party tool like CCleaner (use with caution).

Step 4: Update BIOS and Drivers

Issue 2: Wireless Connection Not Working

Let’s troubleshoot the Wi-Fi issue:

Step 1: Run HP Network Check

  • Open HP Support Assistant → Go to Troubleshooting and Fixes → Select Internet and Security → Run Network Check.

Step 2: Reset Network Settings

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status → Click Network Reset.
  • Restart your laptop after the reset.

Step 3: Update Wireless Drivers

  • Go to HP Drivers Page → Enter your model → Download the latest Wi-Fi driver.
  • Alternatively, open Device Manager > Network Adapters → Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Select Update driver.

Step 4: Check Wireless Services

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and ensure the following services are Running and Automatic:
    • WLAN AutoConfig
    • Network Connections

Additional Tips

  • Ensure Windows is fully updated: Go to Settings > Windows Update.
  • If issues persist, consider performing a System Restore or Reset This PC (with files retained).

I hope this helps!
