Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We were required to install a new router with our same provider (Xfinity.com). The printer works with the desktop but not with my laptop any longer. We were required to create a new WiFi name and password when we changed the router. How do I get the printer to print my documents from my laptop using the wireless connection?  I have Windows 10 and an HP Pavilion laptop. I am HORRIBLE with Internet, connections and language, so please respond in simple, step-by-step instructions. Thank you.

Are the desktop and the printer cable connected to the router?

Generally:

1.Connect all devices to the network in the manner of your choosing(Wired vs WiFi)

2.On the laptop:

a.Open control pannel -> Hardware and Sound -> Printers and Devices.

b.Right click on the old printer(the previous installed version) if it shows on the list(it would show as offline), remove device.

c.Click add printer at the top of the window.

d.Select you printer from the list.

     e.Test printer

If you run into a problem, please tell me at what stage the problem occurs.

Hi,

This type of issue could be better off in the printer section but fair enough. I assume that the printer is connected by USB/Ethernet to the desktop since it works. You have to create a new network printer connection(add a printer over network) on your laptop. Step by step instructions are probably in the printer manual but basically you need to run the installation disk again and follow the instructions it will tell you like connect the printer to the laptop by usb, choose the intended connection such usb/wifi/ethernet, enter the ESSID(network name) and password, etc.

Perhaps if you tell us what printer it is we could be more helpful.
