HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0095nr
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a hp pavilion gaming laptop 15-ec0xxx and i am trying to hook up my mouse. it's a wireless mouse but it does have the little piece that has to be plugged into the side of the computer. (I'm not very tech savvy, i apologize). When I go to settings and click on bluetooth, the first thing that comes up says 'Pair a Device'. I then click on the bluetooth option because I'm trying to connect a mouse, and immediately an error messages pops up and says "Couldn't Connect. Here are somethings you can try: On this windows device turn on bluetooth". But the issue is when I go to the main bluetooth screen, there is no option to toggle on the bluetooth at all. So, its super frustrating and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Am I missing a specific driver and if so, how do i install that? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi @stephgonzales

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I see how that could be a hassle, let’s troubleshoot it. If your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0xxx isn’t showing the Bluetooth toggle, here are some steps to fix it:

Check Bluetooth in Device Manager

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Bluetooth—if you don’t see it, your Bluetooth driver may be missing.
  • If Bluetooth is listed, right-click it and select Enable (if disabled).

Update or Reinstall Bluetooth Drivers

  • In Device Manager, right-click your Bluetooth adapter and select Update driver.
  • If updating doesn’t work, uninstall the driver and restart your laptop—Windows should reinstall it automatically.
  • You can also download the latest Bluetooth driver from HP’s support page.

Run Windows Bluetooth Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Scroll down and run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.

Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
  • Sometimes, missing updates can cause Bluetooth issues.

Enable Bluetooth in BIOS (If Needed)

  • Restart your laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Look for Wireless Configuration and ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
