I posted the same question yesterday and have not received a response. I have followed all the instrucitons indicated on the post but still nothing works. Can you please provide a better solution? It definately is a hardware issue.

Switch off your notebook, then start it and press f2 then run a test on wireless module if it's stated failed or not connected something, then it's sure a hardware..
Solutions = try to reset your wireless module sometimes it can be fixed by fix it again.. All you need to clean the dirt and blow dirt away from fan too, voila...

Thanks but I have done turn it on and off, reenable and reinstalled the wireless adaptor. Apart from throwing it against a wall nothing works.
It's frustrating that the product faulty when I first received it and faulty again after they "repaired" it. I would have to say HP laptop is crap. I don't think they have thought about their quality control very well.
I have had Dell for so long with no problems whatsoever. I still have my old Dell laptop after 10 years which is what I'm forced to use.
Buy anything else, like Dell, Toshiba, Acer, even Apple if you must but never ever EVER buy HP.
After much pain they are refunding me. Even simple task of collection is currently being messed up.
I am a jaded ex-GF of HP.

Make a complaint against the faulty part, they will surely replace it, in a day.
