Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought my HP 17in Envy laptop about 10 months ago. Wifi was working fine with networks. About two months ago i noticed that my wifi keeps cutting out. I go check the device manager and I see a yellow triangle against the INtel wireless driver  (Wifi 6 AX201 160mhz) . So i uninstall it and then do a scan all hardware in the Device manager menu. INtel driver restores itself. I then connect to my wifi router. it works. then after about 10 mins, i lose the connection. this has been going on for the last 2 months; making it very difficult to use the laptop for communications. I need help please

- Uninstall your wireless device in windows device manager

- Install latest driver ( I gave you the link )

- Reboot and test again ...

- If it still does not work, there is a technical problem that cannot be solved by software installations.

Hi

It just came back on. previously i had not uninstalled the default intel wifi driver. i assumed that when i installed the link you gave me, it would overwrite the default driver. i followed your latest suggestion and uninstalled the intel ax201 driver and then followed your instruction. Thank you so much.

one question: the ax201 driver was uninstalled but NOT removed from laptop. so its in there somewhere. Will this be a problem going forward . in other words, will the driver reload itself everytime i turn off and turn on the laptop?

So far so good and if it lasts more than 30 mins, then i know we have solved the problem. I will let you know.

thanks

Paul

Hi

Promised to give you feedback. after 2hrs, the problem is back. I went to look at the device manager and noticed that the old driver ax201 has reappeared in the list even though i uninstalled it. Can I delete it from the system entirely and still get wifi to work with the link download you sent me?

(1) Follow these instructions:

(2) The installed driver will be kept, don't worry. Please create another Windows System Restore Point with a meaningful description.

It was a great pleasure to help you

best regards
