Hello,
I see you are having some issues with your wireless connectivity. Windows is a funny thing. First, the way it is stated is all wrong. Should be Windows are, but as it is a Singularity, it becomes Widows is. So much for Grammar. You have Admin Rights to your computer. Locate and enter the Device Manager. In it, you should see your computer name with many topics below the computer name. If not, expand the Right-Facing triangle and the rest of the topics should appear. Locate and select the right-facing triangle next to the Network Adapters.
Locate and then right-click on the Network Adapter Icon. In there are the adapters to connect to the internet. Right-click on the Wireless Adapter and then select "Uninstall." The next window that opens is the Uninstall Confirmation Window. Select the Delete Drivers box and hit OK. Save any work and then restart the computer. Once the unit restarts, it will find the "New" wireless network adapter. It wil reload as if it were a new device.
What happens is that Windows sometimes loses its control over devices. I am not sure why this appens, but it does. As a matter of fact, over the years,I have seen this so many time that I inveted my own word for this phenomena. The word is "Re-eculate." With Eculate as the root word meaning to build from the ground up, as it was intended to be. Basically, it rebuilds the profile for the particular device, in this case the wireless adapter.
If this does not resolve, I recommend a "Hard Reset." This is a very strange creature indeed. What you need for this is to remove the battery, the ac adapter and any other peripheral devices, USB keyboard and mouse, Ethernet cables, monitor cables and anythin else plugged into the unit. Once you have just the hull of the unit, press and hold the "On Button" for about a minute. What this does is ermove any stray voltage, parasistic voltage or stray capacitance. Technically this is called "Flea Power." The first time I heard that term was from a person way geekier than I. After googling it, yup, Flea Power it is.
If you have issues beyond that, we delve into the BIOS for a bit. Biology is the study of life. As it is in the case of a computer. Meaning Basic Input Output System, BIOS checks for all peripherals within a computer. Remember when you would turn on your computer and after a few seconds it would beep, hopefully just once. The BIOSwas doing a quick check, is ther a dhard drive, yes..Vidoe device, yes...Mouse, yes...KEyboard, yes... Processor, yes and so on. Once complete, the beep would indicate that all is well or let you know something is amiss. Bad memory, hard drive or other devices would correspond to the "Beep Codes" or how many times it beeps.
Back to the BIOS. You can only access the BIOS if the computer is off and applying power. Once the computer is off or in a state of restarting, immediately press and hold the F10 key for a second and then repeat a few times. If the unit boots into Windows, you missed, try again. Once in BIOS, you will find different headings. Typically, under the MAin Tab, you will find Reset Defaults. Usually there are two different Defaults you can reset. Resetting the atual BIOS and then the Security Defaults.
Unless you are all-knowing, I would leave the Security Defaults alone. If you are brave and daring, you can establish your security protocol. There are different settings for these. Remember though, if you set a BIOS password and forget the password, there are times we can bypass this. But if we are unable to unlock the BIOS PAssword, guess what, Customer Induced Damage and you are now on the hook for the price of the system board and the labor required to replace said board. Once all these software steps have been completed and the issue is still ongoing. The next thing to do is to have the hardware replaced. In this case a wlan card or wireless card. I know this seems like alot to do, but in actuality, it will take about fifteen minutes to complete. And that is if you have a very slow computer. Hope this helps!!
