Probook 650 G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Does anyone know of a working IDT audio driver for 650 G1 windows 10 64 bit?

I don't see a driver on HP support page and I have tried many other older previous drivers and settings. Internal speakers are working but internal microphone is completely unresponsive. Sound indicator in "Recording devices" does not show sign of even a bit sound being picked up.

Any suggestions? And does anyone know if HP are working on an updated IDT driver for windows 10?

have you install the Frameworks net. 3.5 an 4.6?

uninstall the old idt driver

reboot

install the new driver

Tried that but installation process is aborted when trying to install sp71886.

"The detected hardware is not supported by this IDT software package. Installation will be aborted".

Do you have other suggestions or am I doing something wrong? Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Stokholt

That seems the driver that you need is this one:

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5405400&itemLocale=en_us&swItemId=ob_1300...

Though it is related to Win 8.1

In my case (HP Probook 4340s and Win 10) when I was trying to use driver that is not for Win 10  I had really bad clogging sound. When tried to install more "newer" softpaqs I received the same message: "not supported".

Finally I even have downloaded Tempo (original IDT) driver from HP site, installation of this one also was aborted.

But then I just manually update IDT driver in the Device Manager pointing to folder where all softpaqs was unpacked (C:\swsetup) and my IDT driver was updated to version 6.10.6504 from Tempo

Here is Tempo driver: link

Good luck!

It seems I can update to driver version 6.10.6504 if first I installed 6.10.6499.0 but unfortunately it does not seem to change anything. Internal mic is still not responding.

I feel like there is nothing more to try and I have come to an end without solving the issue. Can the problem be hardware related? Speakers and webcam are working like a charm but not the built in microphone. The computer was sent to HP service center three months ago (warranty) for solving a minor issue with the screen lid sensor switch. I guess HP performed several tests on the system back then in order to make sure everything else were functioning correctly. Back then windows 8.1 pro was installed though.

Any idea in prying of the display bezel and checking the mic, wirering or something else? Any ideas or input is still greatly appreciated.
