Whenever I try to use the Beats Audio Control panel On my Pavillion DV6-6102AX it comes up with the error "cannot find the .startup file!" I am using Windows 7 64-bit and I also have tried reinstalling the IDT audio driver but that did not solve my problem.

Hi,

Try the following.

Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Feature, right click the entry for IDT Audio and select Uninstall.  When this process has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has fully reloaded, download ( unless you already have this file ) and install the latest IDT driver on the link below.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52501-53000/sp52658.exe

Again, when the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

Regards,

Just tried this and when I run the file it aborts with message "the hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package". PC is a new HP Touchsmart 520 - Windows 7, 64 bit. Also, sound is diabled at end of process. ??

I have the same issue on my Touch Smart 520 series. A resolution would be nice. I did not complete the above process due to the previous post stating they have lost their audio. At least at this point I still have audio.

^This.

Exact same issue. Touchsmart 520-1030, no hardware changes, Win7 64.

Also not going to experiment if I lose my audio....I would like to be able to solve this issue, however my current situation is better than complete loss of audio.

Found an update for the IDT driver under my drivers and downloads found in Support & Drivers. Fixes said:

Fix/Enhancement: - Resolves subwoofer noise issue during power transition states.
- Resolves issue with the system being unable to launch Beats Audio application from Windows system tray.
- Optimized subwoofer settings.

Well, I saw that, decided to take the gamble. Did not uninstall anything, just downloaded and ran the update.

Let's just say I'm back to experimenting with the beam forming settings. (read: problem solved)

followed instructions; uninstalled IDT audio files - downloaded the latest IDT driver per the link, however it is not compliable with my hardware. Now I am unable to access any audio??????

How did you get to drivers & downloads?

Try this link. I have the same problem. I will try this download tonight when I get home, but I believe this is what they are referring to.
