Hi,

I would like to reset the netbook to it's new state but the provided software doesn't offer this function.

Does anyone have the files to restore the netbook to it's original new state?

I use the English version of WinXP.

Thanks for reading.

Regards,

Fred.

Hi, Fred:

So, you're saying your notebook doesn't have a recovery partition on the D:\ drive, and tapping the F11 key at the HP welcome screen doesn't work to restore the PC to its factory settings?

If that is correct, the only thing you can do is to see if you can purchase a set of recovery disks.

Please see the info at the link below for how to order.

If HP no longer has them, if you post your full model # or the product number found on the same sticker as the serial number, there is one outside vendor I know of that might have them, and I can enter your model # ont their site, or you can do it yourself at the link below.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Compaq Mini 110c - 1010SD   WinXP

The product number is:

NZ759EA#ABH

I bought the netbook in The Netherlands.

At first boot it offered a choice between Dutch and English; I chose English.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I have been away so this reply took a lot of time.

I have also been reading the instructions again.

Still I didn't find a solution to reset the netbook to it's new state.

F11 or ESC F11 doesn't do anything and the hdd doesn't have a recovery partition.

HP Recovery Manager is switched off by default.

The Roxio BackOn Track option "Disaster Recovery" needs a .sib file but there is no such file on my system.

The Roxio BackOn Track option "Restore State" is available and there are masses of files and saved states available but as I read:

"None of your personal data files, such as e-mail, documents, or pictures are lost."

it looks like Roxio doesn't clear anything, it seems like Roxio "Restore State" just writes some files over the existing files. Exactly which files Roxio BackOn Track restores still isn't clear to me.

I use several computer systems and have been using and building computers since 1980. I have always taken care of both system and data backup myself. But when buying a complete system I expect an option to reset the system to it's original state is provided.

So I am still looking for a way to reset the Compaq mini 110 WinXP to it's factory state.

Fred.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

This is exactly what I would like to do.

But I don't have a HP Mini 110-1016TU PC.

I do have a Compaq Mini 110c-1010SD PC running WinXP (English).

This computer doesn't provide a "Startup Menu" and it doesn't respond to pressing ESC at startup. It does however provide boot device selection at startup. But I don't have the files to reinstall the O/S.

So I am still looking for a way to reset the Compaq mini 110 WinXP to it's factory state.

Regards,

Fred.

Hi, Daniel, I am having a wireless problem with my hp mini 110-1100 tord. Whenever I connect wireless connection, it keeps telling me limited access, and I'm not getting any connection at all. My drivers are updated, but when I view under hidden devices, I have a yellow ! on HTTP under non-plug an play drivers. Wifi worked for me about a month ago, but now when I go to use it I'm not getting any connections. I really, really need some help. Thanks
