When I posted this question I was trying to apply the steps from "how to troubleshoot a missing or corrupt BIOS" which led to Restoring the BIOS. Here I have troubles executing step 2.7 for which I find no solution.
Result is an error when I try to install the BIOS file (on a USB stick). More details please check my initial post.
Thanks in advance!

Alright, I am going to need some clarification to better assist you.
- What happened and what error messages did you see when you attempted to recover the notebook BIOS using a key press combination?
- Where did you download the BIOS from that you are trying to restore on your notebook?
- Did you see any error messages when downloading the BIOS and copying to your USB drive?
- Was the USB drive completely blank before attempting to copy the BIOS?
- What error message do you see when attempting to load the BIOS from the USB drive?
Please let me know and I should be better able to assist you.

- I only get a black screen and the "two ping - shift lock" message indicating a corrupt BIOS according to e.g. following site http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674?_sm_au_=inVtrBLJBpL7QL68
I downloaded the BIOS file from
- I get an error at step 2-7 ("The HP System BIOS Update Utility opens. Click Next.") from link, when creating an USB Recovery flash drive. This goes in 2 pop up screens with only an "ok" button.
first: "IHISI: Get support mode fail in SMI!"
second: "BIOS did not support InsydeFlash!" - I deleted all other files from the USB stick before using it
- I did not get to load anything from the USB disk because I can't put the BIOS files on the USB
I hope this clarifies some 🙂

I suggest trying one more time using a different USB flash drive. If after doing so you can still not recover the printer, I suggest contacting HP Support by clicking on this link.
Please let me know the results after following the above.

I tried a different USB and it gave an error in same step 2-7
tab 1 : "IHISI: Get support model fail in SMI!"
-> ok
tab 2 : "BIOS did not support InsydeFlash!"
-> ok
The former empty USB stick now contains some files, one of them is InsydeFlash.Log which contains following information:
"
--- Log started: 2016/07/17 12:43:24
Initializing...
Log file : E:\InsydeFlash.Log
Settings file : E:\platform.ini (found)
Executable : E:\InsydeFlash.exe
Version : 4.0.2.0 Build : InsydeFlash
Date : Mon Sep 27 18:58:26 2010
Resource file : E:\iscflash.dll (loaded)
App name : InsydesFlash
OS Information : Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 - supported
Preparation stage
IHISI Version : 193
SMI_IsSupport fail
Error code : 259(0x00000103)
Cleanup Stage
Stage Completed
--- Log Stopped: 2016/07/17 12:48:34
"
The rest are some dll, exe and other log files (without usefull information).
When I try contacting the HP support I get the respons "This product is no longer serviced by HP".
So basically I was forced an update which caused my laptop to crash and after the crash they say "figure it out yourself", this is kinda frustrating. But I appreciate you looking into this :-)!
