how do i unlock the keypad for th hp probook 4530s

HP Recommended

I really don't know what computer you're looking at but my ProBook 4530s does not have a button in the upper left hand corner to even press.   This solution will not work!

Your solution does not work.  Any other thoughts?  Why is this computer full of such **bleep** features?

Finally got it to work;  my double click was not quick enough.  If I wanted to lock the mouse pad, I would want to do it through the control panel.

There is no button on my touch pad.  What do i do to turn it off & on?

Hi dwick,

The button is invisible.  It is a pressure point on the TouchPad in the far upper left corner.  It is not an actual separate button in the way you might expect.

You do have to click on that point very firmly and in quick succession.

That means:  Give it a quick, hard double tap in the far upper left corner... don't try to break through it, give it just enough pressure to get its attention -- enough to flatten your finger tip a bit and whiten the nail bed.

The rest of the bits, the features, the fancy bits that do this and that, the scrolling, disabling this and that -- these things depend on you having the latest and greatest driver.

====================================================================================

  • If you cannot find the latest, greatest driver for your computer and your Operating system, then
  • Open a NEW post and thread of your very own,
  • ask your question,
  • tell us the exact model of your computer and your Operating system and
  • someone will look for the driver or tell you where to find it.

SideBar:

SOMETIMES the driver at your website won't be the fancy, all-inclusive, full-feature TouchPad driver that you read about in other Posts.  Sometimes someone can find a driver that will work for your computer that does have the features you seek.  You have to ask.  HERE is not the place -- this is an old Thread -- it is someone else's thread -- alone, ignored, and in the corner.

No one has answered my question yet on how to turn off the touch pad on my ProBook 4530x.   There's no light, there's no touch pad and everyone is ignoring me.  WHY?P
