Have you tried a newer Nvidia graphics driver?

260.99 32bit and 260.99 64bit

Thank you for your reply. Yes i have tried those drivers, but still the system slows down due to overheating. The thing i am confused about is that under same temperature conditions, my laptop worked fine in windows vista but now in windows 7 it isn't... Is there any other thing i can do? I have checked my speedstep and hyperthreading options as well but the problem still remains. 😞

Tweak your Power Options?   Also, in your BIOS do you have an option for your fan being always on?

HP Recommended

As mentioned above by RobAld, try tweaking your Power Options. One good place to start is setting CPU to 98% for Max.

Regarding settings in BIOS, nop there isnt any option like that.. Ive been searching for that kind of option from the start, but no use.

Also about tweaking the power settings, i found that solution posted by some guy on another forum, but all the affected users(like me) there as well commented that it didnt work. Same thing happened for me, no change. And also this solution does not seem very appropriate to me, because i think a processor provided by the manufacturer should be able to work well under optimum situations for which it is rated.

Kindly help me, because it is currently winter season here in my country and even now on very lucky instances, i get to use my laptop for a maximum of half hour during colder nights.. Please look into this problem, I shall be REALLY thankful to you guys..

And by the way, thanks for the above responses..

Hi,

I'm new here.

Just to make sure, I have Presario V3738 TU and  I upgraded to Windows 7 lastweek. I want to know which level is my laptop in? Level 2 or 3?

Thanks for your support.

How do I know that Chipset Driver has been installed in my laptop? Fyi I click Custom Advance when installing Windows 7.

Thankyou.

HP Recommended

If the Chipset doesn't install there will be a listing for Sm Bus missing a driver in Device Manager.

Here is my Device Manager looks like. Do I have to install the Chipset Driver? What are Microsoft ISATAP Adapter and Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface? What do I have to do to fix them?

Thanks.
