Hi:
When you were posting your request every few minutes, I happened to be sleeping, as it wasn't even 4:00 in the morning where I live!
Below is the link to the driver you need. I'll assume you're running XP 32 bit, since you left me to take a guess.
XP 32 bit is the first file listed.

Hi Paul, I find that I have a very similar problem as the original stated and was hoping that, if you get a chance, you could help me out as well.
My computer is also an HP dc7700, but has XP Home (SP1). The yellow question marks appear by the following terms:
Ethernet Controller
PCI Device
Video Controller
Video Controller (VGA Comp.)
I have tried downloading many various drivers, but none of them seem to work. Thanks so much!

Hi:
You should update your XP Home SP1 to SP3 and then install the drivers.
Here is the link to the direct SP3 standalone download. Ignore the info about network installation and IT Pros/Developers.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24
Put it on a CD or usb flash drive, and update your operating system to SP3.
The only driver I can give you is the ethernet driver because I would need to know the hardware ID's for the vga and PCI devices, and you can't see those without at least having XP SP2 installed.
Ethernet driver:
You can find the hardware ID by going to the device manager and clicking on the devices needing drivers.
Then click on the Details tab.
Post the string of characters you see in the window starting with the PCI/VEN.
I don't need the whole string. Just the info up to the & sign.

Sorry! I thought you were referring to the first & sign after the 1002. Al lthese numbers might as well be Mandarin to me!
Here are (hopefully) the numbers:
Video Controller: PCI\Ven_1002&DEV_7166
Video Controller (VGA Comp): PCI\Ven_1002&DEV_7146
Thanks again!

You're very welcome.
I'm sorry. I forgot there were 2 & signs. :smileyembarrassed:
Below is the link to the lastest XP driver for the AMD Radeon X1300 video adapter in your PC.
If you want the driver + the catalyst control center, download the first file listed.
If you just want the driver, then download the second file listed (WDM Integrated Driver).

My result from "detailed" is:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_104A&SUBSYS_2800103C&REV_02\3&B1BFB68&0&C8
And Intel driver wasn't installed, as I got following error message:
"The installed version of Intel Network connections is not supported for upgrades... You must unistall it ..."
What exactly do I need to do?
