Hi guys please help, I was using my computer just fine as usual, all of a sudden I get a blue screen with this message:

Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart.

We're just collecting some error info, and then

we'll restart for you.

It restarted my computer and literally everything has gone from my computer now, all my downloads, documents, internet history, itunes library.  everything gone.  I've gone to system restore it says there is no back up file to draw from.

What the hell happened?  have I seriously lost all of my files forever?  why and how did this even happen?  Please help someone.

Hello @didier12,

I read your post about the blue screen issue, and wanted to assist you!  I understand that after the blue screen error, you lost all of your files.

There are many reasons why you may receive a blue screen error.  So it is not very simple to pin point why this issue may have happened.  Did you install any updates recently?  Have you had any issues with the notebook overheating?  Are you Graphic Drivers up to date?  You may consider setting up a restore point using the System Restore.  There may also be some third party options, that can help with retrieving lost files.  For more information about troubleshooting blue screen issues, please see the following document:
