Hello Makamanatu,

I need the full model number or product number for the computer. The number you placed is the product key. Take a look at this link and it should show you how to find it.

I am having the same problem everyone else is. I recently installed the Windows 8.1 Update and now the webcam is no longer detected in device manager. I have tried removing the battery and holding the power button, id did not change anything. I also tried reinstalling chip set, bios, and other related drivers, no effect. What else can I try? I had this looked at in may by HP, does that service have a warranty time? My computer is not over the first year, but it has only be 5 to 6 months since I had this looked at.

Hello Opher32. I understand you are having webcam issues with Windows 8.1. If you have ensured that the drivers for the webcam are updated, the best solution is to ensure all of your Windows updates are complete.

There is one other diagnostic you can run. You can the HP Webcam Check. If the computer does have this utility, you can find it here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\HP Support Framework\Resources\HPWebcamCheck

Run the program and see what happens.

I will await your response.
