I had my laptop fixed by HP, but my hinge was actually broken so they actually replaced it.
New hinge worked for awhile, but I noticed it started to wobble on one side. Since warranty is up, I decided to open it up. Turns out the problem was a loose screw and really easy to fix. This may not be the same issue that everyone is having, but I bet it's the same for majority of people here. I'll post a 3 minute video next week and anyone that's out of warranty can follow to fix it. I'll update once I figure out how to post a YouTube video. Cheers.

It worked! Thanks so much.
Guys... it really is as easy as the video makes it out to be. I will just caution that I stripped a few screws while doing this... so be very careful about taking it out on the first turn.

I am currently having a similar problem. I tried to speak with the online chat support but the support tech decided that he should turn on computer remote without any warning. So I came to no result. I use my laptop as intended, on my lap, and as I move even a slight bit the screen falls flat.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Hello! 🙂 I have a similar problem concerning the hinge. While both hinges seems to still be strong enough after 1 1/2 of use, it looks like the fixation of the left hinge has become loose inside the laptop. Any help on how to proceed would be welcome.
