its very possible your motherboard is bad too.....  one last thing I would try if it were mine is to take a hair dryer and blow hot air  thru the vent holes for about a minute.  be sure  to remove the battery first.  dont hold the dryer too too close to the case ,,,the heat can melt the plastic case.   but by doing this   with hair dryer you may be able to reflow the solder on perhaps the video chip...which could have over heated and the pins may have come slightly unsoldered.   if you dont want to try this ...I will understand.    unless others have  ideas for you to try.    I am assuming your laptop is out of warranty correct???

post back with what  other things you tried and your results.  thanks

glad the site moderators are on the job.  too bad they cannot offer any useful advice to you too.   if less than a year old   why not get it repaired or replaced under the 1 year warranty.   if you have tried all the tips from this somewhat useless forum.  not sure what else to offer to you.  if would be nice to know if it would powerup with a charged battery.  if it will, then there is  a problem with the dc jack or the ac adapter.   hope this helps some...do you get any lights or fans running   when you last powered it down   was there any thing strange about the shutdown.??

My problem is almost the same. It's just my laptop went off on sunday night and I cannot charge it because the adapter wont work. I try to plug out the battery but it won't work either. So I leave it alone for a day. Today I try to charge it and it works but then when I try to turn it on it won't work 😪

It went off by itself with the AC cord connected. ??? Sound like you may have it going to sleep. After some period of idle and non use. They are notorious for being difficult to wake up. Not sure what else to recommend but to try and reset. CMOS battery circuit.

My work issued HP laptop wouldn't turn on this morning using the AC adapter or a fully charged battery. I was about to have a meltdown.

I googled the issue and fortunately saw this thread in the search results. Huffer's suggestion on the first page, to remove the battery and the power supply and hold down the power button for 30 seconds and then plug in the AC adapter and try to start it, worked like a charm!  THANK YOU HUFFER!!!!!  You truly made my day!!!!!!!!
