I have an HP envy m6 1205DX
I reformated my HDD to down graded from win 8 to win 7 & afterwards I relized to my horror there are no drivers for this model. The only driver I was able to get was the wireless driver to get online. Is there a way to get windows 8 back or maybe you know where I can get drivers for this madel? I would be happy to with the two
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controllers that are missing.
I would really appreciate the help.

Hi:
Don't you just hate that awful feeling? I've been there before...
Fortunately in your case, it is not all doom and gloom.
Here is what you need to do for W7 drivers:
Install the AMD chipset driver and reboot. First file listed.
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx#2
Then run the AMD Mobility Radeon Driver Verification Tool, and it should find the driver you need for the graphics.
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx
Then, all of the rest of the W7 x64 drivers and software from this model should also work on yours.
DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR FIRMWARE DOWNLOADS FROM THIS LINK
If you get stuck trying to find a driver, I will be happy to help. Just click on the device needing drivers in the device manager and post the hardware ID for it.
If you do not know where to find the hardware ID, please read the guide at the link below.

You're very welcome.
Below is the link to the ethernet controller driver.
I can't help you with the unknown device unless you read that guide I posted above and post the hardware ID for it.
There are a few things the unknown device can be, and I don't like playing "battleship" when installing drivers.

Hi Paul,
I've read all the posts and you've helped tremendously.
Although I'm fairly certain the driver I might need, If you could kindly take a minute and tell me
I have a HP ENVY m6-1225dx
I was wondering all the drivers I would need.
But more specifically, what drivers would allow my beats speakers to perform optimally?
Thank you very much
Take care

You're very welcome.
Below is the link to the driver page for the W7 x64 drivers that should work for the m6-1225dx.

There is only one audio driver and unfortunately, if that driver doesn't get the audio to work completely as designed, I wouldn't know what you need to do to fix it. There are many solved threads regarding Beats audio issues, so one of those should be of help if for some reason the audio doesn't work as you hoped.
You should install the following drivers in this order and reboot after each installation:
1. Chipset installation utility
2. Intel HD graphics
3. Audio.
Seach link to solved Beats Audio threads.

Hi, Scott:
Yes those I posted for the m6-1225dx should also work for yours.
Your model has the AMD/Intel switchable graphics, correct?
If so, you only install the AMD graphics driver which installs the drivers for both graphics adapters.
Paul
