Hi, Robert:

Please post the hardware ID for the device and what operating system you need the driver for and if you have a 32 or 64 bit version of the driver.

If you do not know how to find a hardware ID, please read the info at the link below.

You're very welcome.

If the unknown device is gone from the device manager, it worked.

Greetings,

I have just bought a Pavilion B4W99EA#AKE and after i have installed all the drivers i believed were necessary, yet i found out that i am still missing two and i cannot manage to find the proper ones.

What device manager states i am missing is: PCI Simple communication controller and Unknown Device (possible bus...).

Please advise,

Thank you in advance

Hi, Ralucasan:

Please click on both of the devices and post the hardware ID's for them.

If you don't know how to do that, please read the guide at the link below:

Hello again, Paul.

I applaud your efforts in helping others solve their software driver problems with the PCI Simple Communications Driver!  Have you mentioned to them having to go into BIOS to enable their device; or does that only pertain to retired HP business machines.  Keep up the good work!

Kind Regards, wfejnieh2

Thanks, wfejnieh2:

I guess it depends on the situation and the device involved. There are many devices labeled PCI Simple Communication Devices (modems, Intel AMT/MEI, card readers...) to name a few.

Normally if the device is being reported in the device manager, it is enabled in the BIOS (with the possible exception of the AMT hardware).

Best Regards,

Paul

Hello Paul,

As per your request, the missing drivers are for the following devices:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E3A&SUBSYS_183E103C&REV_04
and

ACPI\HPQ0004

Please advise,

Thank you very much for your time and assistance
