go to http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-series/7486459/model/7685349/drivers/ then scroll down untill you find the button saying check now click it and install what it says to then after it installs it will tell you to restart do what it says then after open it up and search for updates after that install them and restart then it should work :generic: I dont know if it will help you but it's worth a try good luck

The sleep mode problem is not new to Win10. At least not to my HP model, Elitebook 840 G1.

The problem was the same back with Win7 and Win8/Win8.1

What solved the problem one year ago was an updated Intel HD Graphics driver.

Here is one of many threads from back then with the same problem as todays problem.

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Lockups-Freezes-Hangs/EliteBook-840-will-not-Wake-up/td-p/3338...

So my guess is that it's the same thing this time, a working Intel HD Graphics driver is needed to solve this problem for everyone.

I say everyone, as it work for some people and some models and driver combinations like mine, Elitebook 840 G1.

But not until I changed the settings for hybrid sleep mode in advanced powerplan settings to ON/ON. It was OFF/OFF originally, with Fast Startup.

I understand nobody can be expected to read through a 600+ reply thread before posting, but just to reiterate, all the "obvious" solutions -- upgrading drivers, updating BIOS, changing power options, etc. -- have been tried to no avail.

I can happily report that the problem on my end is...wait for it...wait...

STILL A PROBLEM.  🙂  (this has been a recorded announcement).

Of course, I had such low expectations that my disappointment was limited to a very quiet **sigh**.

Oh...and another piece of good news: The TouchPad issue returned as well. I know why, it is because Win10 decided it knows better than I do and installed the Win10 driver for it when it does not work correctly with it.  The 8.1 driver is the only thing that will fix the TouchPad issue.   I hate it when a machine thinks it knows more than I do. 🙂

So...what next?  Maybe I can fix it by hitting with my 9-iron.  Sure.

Tomorrow HP does not get to CHAT with me.  Tomorrow they get to hear my voice and I am sure they are looking forward to it.

This is getting comical now! lol.

Well at least this has made it to softpedia news: http://news.softpedia.com/news/windows-10-updated-hp-laptops-won-t-go-into-sleep-mode-488940.shtml

I hope it makes it to bigger news outlets if this is not fixed soon and even more people are faced with our issue. Maybe then when it could hurt their wallet will mS/HP pull their heads from their butt and do something!!

I have another word for it but it's not suitable for a public forum.

I think tonight I'm going to go ahead and revert back to 8.1. This is getting beyond ridiculous. I might even try to install from the ISO file, not that I have any great expectations.
