Hi,

I did this about a week ago an the problem came right back.  This seems to have worked for a lot of others.  Do

this worked for me.

Go to Generic USB Hub (both of them) in Device Manager.

Go to the Power Management tab

Uncheck the box about allowing the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Restart.

My touch pad had stopped while searching for a solution on this forum. I "unchecked " the boxes and the touchpad came bacxk to life before the restart. It has been working ever since. (three days)

you have any idieas?

while I was researching I saw that some users, said it they had an issue with the tablet not seating well with the keyboard.  it seems some have a hardware issue. you can try to "reseat" the tablet.

Many have also stated that they had to replace the driver, make sure all of your updates, from both HP and Microsoft have completed correctly.

othr than that ????

good luck

HP SLPIT X2 TOUCH PAD ISSUE.

Guys just downgrade your windows from 8.1 to 8 and the touchpad issue will be solved.

Only one problem remains in both windows is the Bluetooh Malfuncting.

Just downgrade from 8.1 to windows 8, your touchpad issue will be solved. I did the same and its working fine.

IMO downgrading to Win 8.1 is not a practical/elegant solution as it breaks other things with the OS that 8.1 addresses (more important than the touchpad issue).  While I am fortunate that the USB Hub Power Management fix has addressed the issue on my Split X2, I would rather go with an external wireless mouse rather than roll back to 8.0 if I was still experiencing the touchpad problem.  In fact, I prefer using the an external mouse to the touchpad in general, but it is nice  to know that I can now rleiably use the touchpad when it is inconvenient to to use an external mouse.  Plus the touchscreen is always an option as well.
