Stream 11
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I've got an HP Stream 11 netbook that is in virtually new condition. Everything is great except the webcam produces a blurry picture, and there is color shift. for instance, my eyeglases look light blue.

I tried installing YouCam, but it's blurry there are well as on the native camera in Win 8.1.

I uninstalled the camera in device manager, and reinstalled. Windows automatically installed the driver for "HP Truevision HD". But nothing changed.

It is quite like the protective plastic is still on the lens, but I have looked closely and not seen it there. I have tried picking at it with an x-acto tip, but all I could do is catch the lens itself, which has a blue ring around it.

In fact, I  just pried the lens off, and the problem is still there. I guess this is pointing to a defective cam.

Thank you. I contacked CS after my post, and a very helpful person established a remote session and verified that there is a problem with the cam itself, and set up a warranty service action. So this problem seems to be on its way to resolution.
