I use For extended support (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS) 64-bit OS for most of my testings.

Ubuntu OS supports many different laptop models and I hope it works for you.

Yes, you should be able to make a bootable USB stick and boot your laptop from it.

Just make sure to insert this bootable USB into a working port. :LaughingTears:

If this is software issue, back up your data and reimage the hard drive (install new Windwos OS).

You have a problem with one of the USB ports on the right side and this port is located on a separate board.

Read my previuos message with more explanations.

I understand this .. but i am aksing if it is a problem of software .. what is the solution ???

I tell you that because now when i tried to plug in a USB Modem .. it works and then stop again .... !!!!

If software...try from the command line sfc /scannow (checks and repairs sytem files) and if that does not work reinstall Windows I am afraid.

If hardware read above. The usb ports are on a daughterboard which is good for you; much less costly and difficult than a motherboard.

If this is the Answer click Accept as Solution, please. This thread is getting a lot of views and we want to be sure to archive it in an easily accessible place.

I make the test and it gives me this message

Windows did not find any errors .......!!!!!!

Good. You can try to reinstall Windows but I would only do that if the usb port works under Linux. Otherwise you are looking at replacing that daughterboard as Komdiv has helpfully laid out for you.

Thank you very much .. i will try these last two options because i have tried many solutions but not working .....

Thank you........

Dear Komdiv ,,

I have sent to ( ebay ) to buy a new ( USB board with cable ) but i want to ask you a question :

is this a problem from the motherboard ot it is only a problem in the USB board ??? because i am afraid that the problem is from the motherboard itself ....??

Please confirm me ............

In your question you mentioned that only one USB port on the right side not working. Most likely this is just bad USB board.
