Hello, I had been having a full month of trouble because nobody could help me configure my switchable graphics, not even the support team over the phone. But your solution helped.

This was my thread with no solution: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/How-to-switch-quot-switchable-quot-graphics/...

Thank you SO, SO much! (Searching for "download radeon graphics card driver 6770m" helped me find this thread.)

I've an HP dv6 with the ATI HD 6770M with the 8.882.3000 driver.

I've noticed that most games crashes in dx11 mode (like Saints Row 3, Dragon Age II, Deus Ex HR).

Some other games, maybe with dx9, work fine (like Just Cause 2, Starcraft 2, Diablo III).

So, what's the best driver for this gpu? And, how can i install it?

Will HP provide us new drivers?

I got the exact same problem, I got a HP Pavilion dv7-6140eo notebook / laptop with AMD Radeon HD 6770m.

I have two GPUs the AMD and a crappy one from intel. I can run it with the Intel GPU, but with a hell of a lag.

I got Windows 7 64 bit.

I can play any other game without problems, it's only Minecraft

Edit: Problem is solved, thank you soooo much.

Thankyou so much, I was having an issue with Settlers 7 running slowly and HP Update was no help. This solution got me back up and running.

Thank you so much, this fixed my Settlers 7 which I had been trying to do for about 2 weeks. I was just about to give up, but now everything is running perfectly with these drivers.

Easy to solve this in 2 steps buddies:

Step 1:  Install the reference drivers and restart the computer.

For 32 bit: http://www2.ati.com/Drivers/mobile/12-10_mobility_vista_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc_whql_net4.exe

For 64 bit: http://www2.ati.com/Drivers/mobile/12-10_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql_net4.exe

Step 2: Now install the Radeon HD 6770m Driver and restart the computer

For Windows 7 (32 and 64 bits):  ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe

For Windows 8 (64 bits): ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59407.exe

Haven't found Windows 8 (x86) drivers yet....Hope you got atleast 4Gb ram and your are on x64 platform.

Hope this helps...

hi..

I have got the same switchable graphics too..

1. shutdown your laptop

2. go to bios setup screen (press F10 at the initial HP screen)

3. press F9 to load the default settings and then press yes.

4. press F10 to exit setup by saving changes and then select yes.

Now

Download Radeon HD 6770m Driver (for win 7 both 32bit and 64bit)

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe

Run the 6770m (sp55092.exe) first and select uninstall--> custom-> select all

RESTART the computer..

Then

Install the driver...

and restart the computer..

Press F10 again at the initial HP screen....and configure the graphic controller to FIXED if you need it.

And I would suggest you to disable "Automatic select power-saving GPU when on battery" feature

and do that manually by allocating some hotkeys..which you can do by following images..1.jpg

2.jpg

3.jpg

Now you can use when hotkeys when you need to switch...

Hope this helps..
