Same error on brand new Asus R556U, i7-6500U skylake, SSD , Nvidia 920M.
Checked in shop on 2 demo models same problem!!
Updated what ever can be updated no difference.
Asus support and shop support don't care, only answer - reinstall windows !

I have the same issue on an HP Pavilion 15-ab203nl, with intel 6200U.
In the beginning I thought that HP was to blame for this issue, but seeing that the same error happened on an ASUS le me think that there's something else. Maybe it's the WIFI card (i have an intel AC-3165). I have solved the issue by setting the wi-fi power save options to maximum performance, althought it's only a workaround.
Did someone solved the problem or had any answer from HP/Intel assistance?

Same flood thing for my hp Pavilion x360. (13-102nu)
Too bad I am working as a support engineer recently. Otherwise I wouldn t have noticed the Event Viewer error.
The bad thing is not this particular event 17, but that I cannot see the other System events.
I did update:
- Windows 10 with windows Update
- Bios
- Graphic drivers
- Chipset
- All Intel devices on device manager
- more...
ps: My device manager shows an Unknown device which won t update with automatic search.

HP should do something against that issue, there are many owner, who have the exact same problem and there is no solution.
We need BIOS upgrade or anything...it seems the error caused by WLAN module, but it's not only Realtek, as I read some of the owners had Intel unit with the same error.

Hello guys! I have the same problem on ASUS x555ub with i5-6200. I guess the problem might be solved if 1) new BIOS 2) new Intel chipset drivers. But seems there is no any perspective to see updates soon. Until this moment, nothing can help.
The only one thing that i cant understand - where is the quality control system ? It should work before releasing such products on the market.

I have the same issue, for me it's the realtek wireless adapter, when I disable either the adapter or the intel PCI Express Root Port with :
Bus device:Function: 0x0:0x1C:0x5
the messages stop
I already installed-update bios, chipset, wireless adapter drivers and it's still the same problem WHEA-Logger flood - Event ID 17.
HP I need a solution for this, what to do?
