I cant find anywhere where it says PCID it is not under the battery that was the first place i looked and it isnt on the mobo it just so happens i still have a spare one of the exact same make from dealing with those people earlier maybe it doesnt say PCID what are your thoughts on this i have found the P/N and serial number and there are some other numbers printed under the battery but no PCID can you help what are your thoughts i am woirried if i do this wrong it will mess it up thank you in advance.

I have got a dv7 and the PCID is on a sticker under the main laptop battery. It's a very long number. It could be also on the top or bottom cover visible from inside the laptop. I believe it is somewhere on the laptop chassis or the motherboard.

I think that PCID identifies the exact laptop unit. It means if you can't find the PCID on the motherboard it will be on the chassis somewhere and use it without worries. If the PCID will be on board use this one as it identifies the exact board and not the whole unit.

Find the PCID on the laptop chassis if there is none on the motherboard because there must be one somewhere. I guess that it should be on the chassis/base as there are more ways how to identify only the board (CMOS etc..).

I don't know but it might. Have a look at the old board or somewhere on the base enclosure from inside (remove the top cover). There should be definitely PCIDverylongnumber somewhere on the laptop.

I just opened it up but i didnt go under the board because i dont have the time to go that deep into it but i was hoping it might be inside the case under the top and i didnt see any numbers with pcid i did find a couple stickers with long alpha numeric numbers but none with pcid i am going to have to open it completely up all over again to get under the board as that is the only place i have yet to look i really dont want to have to and i wish this was something i could just find online

I can't see how the PCID could be in that link. Do you mean the scanid? That is probably internal id of this scan for that website. The thing is that if the PCID is not on board but on the chassis you probably can't get it anywhere else than from the chassis. Perhaps in system information could be something but only if the PCID is related to the motherboard.
