HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

Windows 7 home premium

We were able to play Cds and Dvds, and now they are not playing.  I did download i-tunes recently, but don't recall if the problem emerged immediately after that.  We don't use discs very often.  When I ran the troubleshooting softward it said:

hp dvd-ram uj8b1 has a driver problem

Reinstall device driver Completed

The drive is experiencing a Plug and Play device issueThe drive is experiencing a Plug and Play device issue
Windows has detected a device status error with this drive and will keep checking for problems. Detected

What should I do now?  How can I get this working again?

Thank you

Hello caehir,

You’re having a problem with your DVD driver.

What is the model and product number on your computer?

You can find this by holding the FN key and pressing the ESC key.

Go to device manager and uninstall the DVD drive and restart the computer.

This will uninstall and reinstall the driver for the drive.

Here is a link  to device manager.

Clicking the White Kudos star on the left is a way to say Thanks!

Let me know how everything goes.

Have a good day.
