Hi,

One option that may help is the following.  Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.  Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.  Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.  Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all.

So I have a Windows 8 computer and recently upgraded to Windows 8.1. After I updated it, I tested it and everything seemed fine. The next day I went on Steam to play a game and when I started the game the game audio was so low that I had to put my headset on the highest volume and I still could barely hear the game. I soon relized that my audio was so low even though I had my headset on the highest and my PC. I did what you said (Turn on loud equalness) but it didn't work. Please help I might get a new PC gmae soon and I would like to hear it.

That helped a lot but the volume is nowhere near the volume of other laptops I've heard - you can't hear it properly unless you are quite close to it.

Is there anything else I can do to increase the volume?

I see no replies here. 

My headphone sound is fine but the  device speakers give off only about 50% volume if at all
