I did what you have said Thadde and it works.

I noticed that problem occurs when I plug in the charger when the battery is 96-97%, so i disconnected the unplugged the charger and waited for the battery to drop to 94% and then plugged the charger again and started charging normal.

So for those who are experiencing this problem when the battery is 95-97% can try this - unplugging your charger and wait until the batery drops to some % (like 90% or below) then plug again and see if it is charging.

Thanks

have retried the recommended solutions in every possible combination, no luck. Incredibly frustrated with HP laptops. WIll never again own one. First the cooling fan, which took nearly a month to get a replacement, then the issue with the battery.

Has anyone else found a solution when the "uninstall driver" - reinstall battery scheme doesn't work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Battery now @3% and I'm stuck carrying the power supply with me

everywhere I go and rebooting the PC cause it can't last 10 seconds without being plugged in...

in seconds ull find the battery is charging again ..

Hi Sparkles1

'Accept Solution' button isn't appearing when I log in, so this will have to do.

Battery replacement turned out to be the ultimate solution, which I am really surprised at, since

the machine is barely 18 months old, but a new battery is now at 73% AND CHARGING which is progress.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @mk_mk ,

Welcome to the HP forum!:cathappy:

To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since the Elitebook 6930p  is a commercial product. You can do this at :

Notebook - HP ProBook, ZBook, EliteBook, Compaq, Slate/Tablet PC, Armada, LTE.

The support page for your product may be helpful in the meantime:HP EliteBook 6930p Notebook PC.

I hope this helps.

My laptop crashed - I believe the charging was working fine until then - It may have already stopped.
I reinstalled Windows then noticed it.
I have gone thru the "fixes" many times with all the variations. It charges at the most for about 10 seconds when I just plug it in.
I installed Windows on another drive. same thing.
I removed the drives and it still doesn't charge.
That tells me the issue is either in the BIOS/UEFI or in firmware loaded to some device.
The question is which one and how to fix it?

Only things I can think of = Intel chipset, Intel MEI.

Since it is not confined to HP laptops it must be f/w common to many mfg.

Is there any HP f/w that might do it?

the problem is widespread - it appears to have something to do with device firmware and is not confined to commercial products.

Hence the general post.
