soundstation 2w no base station

Hi, I just bought a sound station 2w online, but I didnt realize there was no basestation.

Is this phone usable without the base station? If so, what do I lose by not having it?

Can I buy just the base station someonere? (I cant seem to find)

Also assuming I can use it for mobile phone at least, where can I buy the mobile phone connector?

Hello Joel,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Polycom, to my knowledge, does not sell single base stations as a replacement product and without the Base the unit cannot be used.

A workaround could be to register it with a standard home DECT Phone base station as at least in Europe most of these units can register up to 6 Handset's and the SS2W can just be one of them.

Please contact a Polycom Reseller for the mobile phone cable.

We are missing the base station to a SSW2 DECT6.0 and would like to use an off the shelf Panasonic DECT 6.0 consumer cordless phone as a substitute. Is there a special process or setting on the SSW2 to accomplish this?

Hello Mark6182,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I believe only the European DECT GAP compatible units can be paired with a non Polycom DECT device. You can try to pair this with the unit you think but I cannot confirm it should work.
