Hi All,

          I have just installed RealPresence Desktop 3.1 on my two laptops. The laptops are not on any network but connected directly through an Ethernet cable. How can I configure the RPD fon these two laptops for smartpairing.?I have enabled the Smartpairing & Autodetect options in the application window. Also, I have enabled the Telnet service on both laptops. 

 

I tried pairing using the IP addresses but it wouldn't work. Can anyone help?

Hello venkatesanpras,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The smart pairing functionality is to pair the RPD or RPM with a Video Codec and not another Software solution.

 

In order to establish a call you simply dial the other PC's IP address.

 

There may be local firewalls to be considered.

 

If there is no DHCP server you will need to assign a static IP to each PC.
