Same issue

The installer is fine. Same file worked on another PC, also W11 23H2 and all patches.

i know what the issue it. It is 100% related to the fact that admin rights are required for any 2.x version of lens.

This is a HUGE problem for folks like myself that use a corporate machine that is locked out from admin rights.

I do have some limited ability to install programs with admin rights, but its a permission process that is getting blocked because the "Lens Control Service" needs to get installed, and that ALSO needs admin rights. If HP can release the installer for "Lens Control Service", i might actually be able to get somewhere. Clearly no one at HP thought about lack of admin rights on corporate machines, What happened to this company???

See below from the release notes:

When Poly Lens Desktop 2.0 installs, a new service will be installed called Lens Control Service which requires User Admin Rights

Its an utter shame the HP does not have a real community support forum, and the standard answer from HP people are just that we are to contact HP support.

Hello @proficit

I will not try and explain again what this forum is and even people with an HP badge may not work around the Poly Lens development as it seems lost on you.

I am just a volunteer with an HP badge that replies to all things around Poly based on my experience as a support engineer in various positions in my over 15 years with Polycom/Poly/HP Poly/HP

I already explained how to log a ticket so you can communicate directly with the relevant team:

Best regards

If you need immediate and/or official assistance for former Poly\Plantronics\Polycom please open a service ticket through your support channels

Why not forward our feedback to the Poly devs? That's how other more useful support forums work?

Apart from that, this forum seems to be more tailored for announcements, rather than problem solving...

Same issue here... Also an update with admin rights is not possible

Hello @proficit

as you had posted in such a professional manner not insulting my Employer? I did bring this to the product management's attention and I am aware you also managed to log this via the Mopinion option.

So far, we have no idea if you are a single user or an admin who looks after thousands of installations. We are also not aware of what hardware from HP/Poly/Plantronics/Polycom you are using this with.

This is my last reply and you are entitled to your opinion about a volunteer in this community and the contributions and solutions provided in the last 10 years or more

Ticket is already open but it seems that many users have a similar issue.
