This release of Poly Clariti Manager includes new features, feature enhancements, and important field fixes.

This release includes the following new features and enhancements:

  • PolyOS 5.0 upgrade

  • KVM virtual environment support

  • Digest authentication and SHA-256 support for Poly endpoints

  • FIPS 140-3 support

  • Guest book entries increased to 1000

  • System software installation with USB flash drive

  • Enable or disable face tracking events

  • Support for new endpoints

PolyOS 5.0 upgrade

You can upgrade some endpoint devices to PolyOS 5.0 in Poly Clariti Manager.

Important: Poly OS 5.0 is a one-way upgrade and cannot be rolled back.

Poly Clariti Manager displays a warning when you upload the PolyOS 5.0 file and you can continue the upload or cancel. If you continue, Poly Clariti Manager prevents sending the upgrade file to some endpoints (see the following lists of unsupported providers and unsupported hardware). Logs are captured when Poly Clariti Manager does not send the upgrade file.

Upgrades to PolyOS 5.0 are supported only for the following providers and hardware.

  • Poly/SIP

  • Google Meet

  • RingCentral

  • Dialpad

  • GoTo Meeting

  • Tencent

KVM virtual environment support

This version supports the KVM hypervisor for virtual environments.

Poly Clariti Manager 10.12.3 supports the KVM qcow2 disk image format.

 

Digest authentication support

This release supports the digest authentication protocol.

From this release onward, Poly Clariti Manager supports digest authentication with Poly CCX Series, Poly Trio C60, and Poly Edge E endpoints. When authenticating, if basic authentication with an endpoint fails, Poly Clariti Manager will try authenticating with digest.

When using digest authentication, Poly Clariti Manager supports MD5 and SHA-256 encryption.

See your phone documentation for configuration settings. You can also configure your endpoint for backward compatibility.

Enabling or disabling FIPS mode

This version supports the Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-3 certification standard.

    FIPS mode ensures encryption and key handling meet U.S. and Canadian government‑approved security requirements.

Note: The following information applies when you enable FIPS mode:

  • TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 are disabled.

  • Strong Ciphers and Validate Certificates for Connections to Servers are automatically selected and cannot be disabled.

  • You cannot use TLS 1.2 for Microsoft Active Directory connections.

Procedure

  1. Go to Admin > Management and Security > TLS Settings.
  2. Select Enable Fips-140.
  3. Select Update.

    The Poly Clariti Manager system restarts.

 

Guest book entries increased to 1000

The guest book provides a way to store conference participants that aren't managed by the Poly Clariti Manager system.

The guest book is a local system directory that includes guest participants who were either explicitly added to the guest book or saved to the guest book while being added as conference participants.

This release supports up to 1000 guest book entries.

Installing the Poly Clariti Manager, Appliance Edition, software using a bootable USB flash drive

This release supports installation of the Poly Clariti Manager system software using a USB flash drive.

The following topics provide instructions on downloading the system software from Poly Lens, creating a bootable USB flash drive, and installing the software on your Poly Clariti Manager, Appliance Edition, server.

Download the Poly Clariti Manager software from Poly Lens

To create a bootable USB flash drive, first download the Poly Clariti Manager ISO image from Poly Lens.

Procedure

  1. Log into your Poly Lens account.
  2. Go to Manage > Licensing > Clariti.
  3. Select Product Catalog.
  4. Select Clariti Manager.
  5. Select the software ISO image to download and save it on a local PC.

 

Create a bootable USB flash drive for the Poly Clariti Manager software

Create a bootable USB flash drive to use to install the Poly Clariti Manager software.

  • Use a blank USB flash drive with at least 16 GB storage.

  • Use Rufus or another utility for Windows that formats and creates bootable USB flash drives from ISO images.

Procedure

  1. From Poly Lens, download the Poly Clariti Manager ISO file to a local PC.
  2. Insert a blank USB drive in the PC.
  3. Open the Rufus (or other) software and select the USB drive in the drive section.
  4. Attach the ISO file in the boot section.
  5. Select Start to create the bootable USB drive.
  6. After the process completes, safely remove the USB drive.

 

Install the Poly Clariti Manager system software

Install the Poly Clariti Manager system software using the USB bootable flash drive you created.

Procedure

  1. Insert the USB bootable flash drive you created into the server.

  2. Start the server from the USB drive.

  3. At the system prompts, configure the following settings for your system and press Enter after you complete each setting.

    Note: To accept the default settings, press Enter at each prompt without changing the default information.

    If you accept the system default settings during the initial installation, you can later revise the settings from the Poly Clariti Manager system web interface.

  5. After the installation completes, safely remove the USB drive and restart the server.

 

Enabling or disabling face-tracking events

Face tracking collects participant counts at different points during a video conference. Poly Clariti Manager uses face-tracking data in call detail record (CDR) reports.

In this version and later, you can enable or disable face-tracking events in Conference Settings.

  • Enable face-tracking events

    When you enable face-tracking events, Poly Clariti Manager saves the events and checks the face-tracking event table after every 750,000 events. When the table reaches 1 GB, Poly Clariti Manager automatically triggers a purge cycle to delete all face-tracking events.
