I am currently having issues refilling multiple neverstop 1001NW printers using 143A toner with the redesigned armature.
Symptoms
- Toner fill doesn't register on the indicator light after toner is dispensed.
- Toner fill doesn't register in event logs after toner is dispensed.
- Multiple devices (HP 1001NW) are experiencing the same symptoms.
- Refill cart. will twist but more pressure than usual is required to dispense toner.
- Refill cart. doesn't release without hitting cancel.
- This is genuine HP toner order from HP.com.
This issue makes these printers extremely hard to support since they are not functioning correctly and employees are unable to refill toner consistently.
Notes: This issues is present on the product page as well. My business purchased 8 of these printers and I am becoming very worried this product will become unsupported/EOL
The HP Product page reviews show other users are experiencing the same symptoms.

@QRSnap, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Kindly follow the steps mentioned in this document for assistance - Reloading Toner
This printer will not become EOL until 5 years, not to worry about that. HP will honor the product warranty.
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

I verified that I was installing the toner properly with the linked documentation. All steps and suggestions linked have not resolved the issue. I will be performing one more set of tests to determine if this is an issue with the toner reload kit or 1001nw unit.
I will update this post in the coming week with my results.

I have resolved the issue. The steps to resolution are as follows.
Put simply, let the 144A imaging drum run down to the point where the warning light and the +2 show up on the toner level indicator. At this point the drum will accept more toner. This is where you must be very careful the new fold out style toner refill carts don't always evacuate the entire contents of the cartridge. This will be seen by the fact that the drum wont release the refill kit. When this happens pull the plunger back up, then press down again. Do this until the printer recognizes the refill and releases the toner.
A notable issue is that the printer software will start throwing warnings regarding toner levels before it's even possible to refill the unit.
Overall the new plunger design is causing quite a few issues with refills.
