hp 1536DNF
Microsoft Windows XP

There is no display on the printer but display's backlight is on and all the leds on the screen are lit. Power light is also on.

It is not getting detected by computer (neither on usb nor on ethernet) nor can it copy or scan. i.e. after which on it is dead with all lights on.

while switching it on does do the normal noises but there is no display appears at any time. initially after few restarts for couple of times "nnnnnnnnnnnnn" came on the screen but now nothing. only blank screen with black light on.

I have tried following:

-  engine test and it works okay. (horizontal lines on paper are printed)

-  power reset ( unplugged cable for hour) and then switching on again but no luck.

- cold reset (by pressing right arrow + Cancel on start) but no result. Though I am not sure on this as its right key has been problematic.

Please help.
