There are 2 black ink cartridges in my hp photosmart 7510 printer.  How do I know which one is the small one and which one is the big one when purchasing them?

Hi @Dawndizzle,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

In the HP Photosmart 7510 printer, typically, one of the black ink cartridges is the standard-sized cartridge, while the other one is the high-capacity or XL cartridge. Here's how you can identify them.

  • Check the Cartridge Numbers: Look for the cartridge numbers printed on the cartridges or in the printer's manual. Usually, the standard cartridge will have a lower number, while the high-capacity one will have a higher number. For example, one might be labeled "HP 564" and the other "HP 564XL".
  • Check the Packaging: When purchasing replacement cartridges, the packaging often indicates whether it's a standard or high-capacity cartridge. Look for terms like "XL" or "high capacity" on the packaging.
  • Physical Size: In some cases, the high-capacity cartridge may be physically larger or have a slightly different shape compared to the standard one. You can compare the cartridges visually to see if there's any noticeable difference in size.
  • Printer's Settings: Some printers provide information about the cartridges installed, including their capacity. Check your printer's settings or display panel to see if it can identify which cartridge is which.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
