Last year I bought two 956XL cartridges. Installed one, set the other aside. All good until I ran out of ink. I installed the black 956XL cartridge I had set aside. It is full of ink, looks identical to the one I removed even to the warranty end date. Both are 2020/10 made in Malaysia.
But moments after installing I get an error message that this cartridge is an older generation that cannot work with my printer.
I went through the troubleshoot steps of reset, check firmware (up to date), and cleaning the cartridges chip. Error message remains.
This upsets me a lot. These cartridges are darn expensive. They are identical and purchased at the same time. But apparently in some way the one I set aside is won't work. Anyone know what I can do about this?
