MFP M227fdn
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I have recently bought a new MFP M227fdn laser jet pro printer. The overview of the printer states that the default is 2-sides printing. But I have a problem doing it. I have tried the steps provided by previous posts like turn on the Duplex mode, reboot the printer, clicked on the 2-sides button. None of them work for me :((

I guess if it won't work out I have to do it manually, but it's a bit annoyed when the printer has that option but I can't use it

Anyway, please help me out and have a good day. Thank you!

@Quinnnguyen, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

According to the printer specifications, this model printer supports auto-duplex printing.

Which application are you using to print?

This option varies with the app you are using to print. Try printing different types of document to check if the issue persists.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

For default and common steps to print a 2-sided document, kindly refer to this document - How to Print on Both Sides of the Paper

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
